There hasn't been many updates lately to the site, mainly due to the Parker Society having meetings at Yankee Stadium. But with the World Series drawing near, we take time to add some great new items to Dot City.
From time to time we get mail about Mrs. Parker and her life in Pennsylvania. So we added a
few photos and page about Bucks County, where Dottie and Alan Campbell lived off and on for 20 years. Special thanks to
Erin Seifert for taking the photos and
Sharon Stamis for the news. We added the page just about a month after
Hollywood debuted here.
Another night of Dottie live entertainment is coming, this time to Boston and with four actresses under the lights.
Excuse Our Dust, A Tribute to Dorothy Parker will be presented for one show on Nov. 20, 1999, at 8 p.m. Catch it at Bad Girrls Studios, 209 Green Street, Jamaica Plain (Boston), Mass. Tickets are a reasonable $3 (less than it costs to rent a movie or buy a drink, so this is a real deal). Morrighan Productions and Open Faucet Productions produce the show. It features readings and original performances celebrating Mrs. Parker's life and work. The show stars
Loann West, Karine Albano, Niki Ford and
Trista Beard. What is the show about? We aren't totally sure, but Trista says in her portion she will be "doing an original bio-monologue titled "Fresh Hell" chronicling Parker's adventures, giving life to her wit and attitude, and smoking a lot during the inventive 1940 interview. There will also be a slide show and music making the stage piece a multi-sensory event." Bring your friends to Bean Town for what promises to be a good night.

Ellen Simmons, the
Miami Herald writes: "Though she's taller and not as fine-featured as Parker, her actor's alchemy evokes a woman with a fine mind and tortured soul."
